CWS Wan Chai Wonders City Challenge
15 March 2015 . iDiscover was proud to be a co-organiser of the CWS Wan Chai Wonders City Challenge in Hong Kong, together with Team Building Asia. Over 200 people raced through Admiralty and Wan Chai, from check point to check point, experiencing HK’s cultural heritage, hidden gems and hustle and bustle.
Using the iDiscover Wan Chai app, participating teams learnt about local cultural and explored hidden gems in the colourful and vibrant Wan Chai neighbourhood -the city’s ultimate melting pot with old trades, cheap eats, red lights, tall buildings, quiet temples and hip galleries all living side by side.
This event raised over HK$100,000 for CWS anti-trafficking project in Nepal. Since 1995, Child Welfare Scheme (CWS) has grown from a small charity helping a few hundred children in remote mountain villages to one that plays a significant role in tackling poverty in Nepal. It’s aim is to empower and enable its local partners to work with communities to reduce poverty and improve the health, education and social opportunities of disadvantaged children and youth. Today, CWS supports over 30,000 children ever year to access education, health care and social opportunities.
CWS’ efforts are even more important following the recent devastating 7.8 magnitude earthquake that struck Nepal on 25 April 2015, the worst to hit Nepal in almost a century, with thousands of families affected, and homes and historic buildings destroyed. CWS set up to a relief fund and all funds will be sent to Nepal where they’ll make sure the money is put to good use. Click here to find out how to CWS has put the money to good use.
