Yangon ရန်ကုန် Circular Railway

Yangon’s Circular Railway Line gives you an intimate glimpse into the daily life of the city. An astonishing 150,000 passengers use the train every day to travel to work, shop and play. The full loop, 46 kilometres long, takes about three hours and introduces you to Yangon’s more authentic neighbourhoods. This map highlights six that are worth a wander: Ahlone, Kyeemindain, Hledan, Insein, Tadagale and Mahlwagone. Buy a ticket at platform 7 of Yangon Railway Station and hop on, trains leave every hour. Hop off at any of these six stations, for each neighbourhood, students from the Pre Collegiate Programme in Yangon have curated a walking route with local's favourite places to eat, drink play and pray. Explore Yangon like a local and enjoy the ride!
