Yangon Travel AppYangon Travel App1 December 2016. On a sunny afternoon in late November, it was an enthusiastic and happy crowd that joined us for an exciting #instameet photo challenge, to mark the launch of the iDiscover Yangon App&Map. This adventure-seeking, instagram loving folks roamed the streets, taking their inspiration from historic highlights along the iDiscover routes and snapping away, and playing with our Yangon Travel App.
With the sun setting, the group made their way back to Union Bar & Grill, for the official launch with partners Hla Day, Yangon Walking Tours, 57Below http://unionyangon.com/and four local Burmese artists.
The professional jury comprising of Ben Mcnamara (TwoHumansTravel), Randi Wagner (Hla Day), Nikki (57 Below) and Pyae Wai Mya Win (Yangon Redesigned), had the difficult task to pick four winners, out of almost 100 entries, that best reflected the spirit of old Yangon!
A huge thanks to Union Bar and Grill and Hla Day for sponsoring the prizes, and of course to the creative artists who designed beautiful, distinctive and colourful maps.
Pick up your free neighbourhood maps from Hla Day, Union Bar, Tin Tin, Gekko, MyanmArt, Deitta, YHT and Turquoise Mountain, when you’re next in Yangon. Choose from four wonderful self-guided walking tours: Secretariat & Beyond, Downtown, Indian Quarter and Chinatown.
