A church for Chinese locals

This Binondo Chinese Parish is located just behind the Binondo Church. Whereas Binondo Church is a church for all Manila people, this one is more exclusively for Binondo. Masses are conducted in Chinese and the older generation of Chinese prefer attending mass here because of the language. Meanwhile, many of the local Binondo youth gather here to interact with each other, share faith, or simply widen their friendships with fellow churchgoers.

Faith of the youth

It is Our Lady’s Church that runs the San Lorenzo Ruiz Academy, right beside the place of worship. The Spaniards wanted to introduce Catholicism to the Chinese, and the best way to do that was through educating the youth.
