Union Bar was the idea of a group of local entrepreneurs looking to reinvigorate Yangon’s illustrious cosmopolitan past. Taking advantage of the high ceilings of the imposing Red Cross building along Strand Road, they managed to transform its ground floor into an industrial chic east meets west bar. It has now been reincarnated as Port Autonomy, a pop-up concept that has brought fresh vibes to many forgotten Yangon places.
