iSee Lo Pan Temple

Worshipping the God of Chinese carpenters

The family owners have not forgotten the protector behind their business, Lo Pan is still worshipped at the top floor.

Temple of carpenters

This unassuming hardware shop used to be a temple. Three generations ago this is where Chinese carpenters and builders would gather to worship their patron god Lo Pan. Today this remains the place where contractors come for equipment and the family owners have not forgotten the protector behind their business. Lo Pan is still worshipped on the top floor.

Nice to know

Many of the migrants from Southern China were in the building industry. They clustered here along Anawratha Road. Even today this is the hub for hardware, building materials and equipment.
