Who was Judson?
This monumental chapel is named in honour of Adoniram Judson, a Baptist missionary who created the first Burmese-English dictionary. From 1813 until his death, he established 100 churches and converted 8,000 souls. So much is he respected that every July all Baptist Churches in Myanmar celebrate Judson Day.
Multipurpose building
This famed chapel with its unique bell tower is an important landmark on the university campus. There is Karen Church Service held on Sundays at 11am. When there is no mass, the church is used as a study centre. The Yangon Student Union also uses the church for gatherings.
