A tiny boutique next to the monkey forest which features men’s clothing made of gorgeous cotton, linens, and natural dyes. Owner Charlotte an American, and French partner Florant (aka Flo) have created an environmental conscious fashion line that is basic yet, elegant and classic, and absolutely ideal for the warm Balinese weather.
Above the Clouds got its name because I believe that it is time for people to get their heads out of clouds.
Ethical fashion
Charlotte spent many years in the fashion industry, and after moving to Bali jumped at the opportunity to start her own ethically minded clothing line. She shares: “Each piece is made locally, by small manufacturers. We allow the flexibility for women to work from home, so they can watch over their children at the same time. We also work with a small Balinese family business that has been naturally dying fabrics for more than twenty years.”
What’s in a name?
Charlotte explains, “Above the Clouds got its name because I believe that it is time for people to get their heads out of clouds and be more globally action-oriented in politics, society and the environment”.
