A Tapsilogan is one of these small hole-in-the-wall restaurants you find all over the Philippines. Popular among students and office workers with small wallets and big appetites.
People come here for silog, the Filipino breakfast staple of fried rice with toasted garlic bits and eggs. You choose, scrumbled, fried or sunny side up with the yolk runny and soft. The silog comes in different variations:
- Tapasilog - with strips of marinated beef and spiced vinegar
- Longsilog - with Filipino sausages
- Hotsilog - served with hotdogs; and
- Bangsilog - made with fried Milkfish.
Breakfast or midnight snack?
This place doesn’t close until midnight and happily serves sisig at night, with a beer.
