iEat Amis Restaurant

A hidden heritage restaurant; one of Quiapo’s best-kept secrets

Carriedo street classic

Right in the middle of Carriedo Street, Amis is one of the best-kept secrets of Quiapo. Hidden behind some cheap street stalls, this is where locals come to enjoy hearty Filipino staples such as lechon kawali and kare-kare (mild curry). Set lunches are great value for only PHP 120-190.

Longstanding heritage

Nanay Aling, an Amis regular since 1948 says: ‘I’ve come back again and again for the food and the atmosphere. It reminds me of my childhood’. The place is particularly popular among devotees of the Black Nazarene who come here after service.

I’ve come back again and again for the food and the atmosphere. It reminds me of my childhood.

Seasonal milkshakes

Amis is a choice location for seasonal fruit milkshakes. All-time favourites include avocado, strawberry and durian. Only available when the fruit is in season (PHP 70 for one).
