Gonzalo Puyat Street is one of Quiapo’s most famous streets. Long known as electronics street, here you find everything from televisions to karaoke machines for bargain low prices. A full-size machine will only cost PHP 3000.
The optometrist’s address
Need some new glasses? One street south of Raon, just behind the Quiapo Church lies Paterno Street boasting more than 50 independent eyeglass making workshops. This is the best place to buy frames and lenses. Most of the shops offer free tests by licensed doctors and will happily make you a prescription in less than 15 minutes. Frames costs as little as PHP 300 and you can get a new pair of glasses for just PHP 900.
Paterno’s Nazarene
Hidden throughout Quiapo are four replicas of the Black Nazarene, a constant reminder of the Quiapo identity. Find one at the corner of Paterno and Evangelista Street.
