Turon is a staple afternoon snack made of sweet banana wrapped in rice wrapper deep fried with caramelized sugar. The stall here in front of Estrella House is a local food icon. Get a turon for PHP 15 per piece.
Iconic street food
In the evenings vendors sell the king of all Filipino street foods: baluts steamed duck eggs with half developed embryos. To eat it you crack open the egg, drink out the fluid, then peel the rest of the egg and dip it in salt and vinegar. Hugely popular locally because of its aphrodisiac powers.
