Peaceful guardian of the town
The huge banyan tree in Sha Tsui Park is more than 100 years old. A native tree to Hong Kong, it is slow-growing. When the branches hit the ground they start growing new branches forming a spectacular umbrella of roots. Here is a nice place to rest or play.
When I played here as a kid, the banyan tree was not big.
