The symbols of SK

The cows roam Sai Kung day and night. They are part and parcel of the town. During Hong Kong’s industrial boom in the 60’s and 70’s, many farmers in the New Territories abandoned their farming lifestyle to find better jobs. Their animals, including cows and boars, were released into the wild and their descendants still live in the Sai Kung area.

Keep a distance

If you go to the beach in Sai Kung you can see them relaxing if you’re lucky. Be sure to stay away though so you don’t scare them.
