Heart of Sanur’s creative entrepreneurial community

Sanur’s creative home

Long-time Sanur resident and successful media strategist Pak Arief Budiman - or Ayip as his friends call him - had a vision: to provide a home for Bali’s emerging creative scene, an affordable place for designers, architects, musicians, photographers and writers to work, meet and play. The Bali Creative Community that he co-founded in 2008 finally evolved into Rumah Sanur, the islands’ creative hub and co-working space.

Inspirational design

Now in its fifth year, Rumah Sanur has firmly established itself an inspirational and happening place. Spread of over two floors in a hybrid indoor/outdoor setting with large garden its spacious and ingenious design provides a peaceful working environment, the quietness only interrupted by the hissing of the coffee machine or the jovial laughter from a group of youngsters vividly discussing a new venture. A crowd of loyal locals make for a homely atmosphere and a busy calendar - 400+ a year - of concerts, talks, fashion shows, food tastings and other creative initiatives makes that there’s always something going on.

It’s dynamic, and we are all trying to build our own identity.
— Pak Arief Budiman
