The name is the same as Hong Kong’s Cheung Chau Island, but this island is famous for the Whampoa Military Academy founded by Dr Sun Yat-sen. There are quite a few historical monuments dotted around the island, temples and docks, the remains of forts and many low and flat sandbars, so characteristics for the Lingnan water village.

The water bus leaves every 15 minutes and sunset is around 17.45pm.
