Founded in 1935, Choi Heong Yuen Bakery has grown with Macao over the years and has 14 stores. All these years Choi Heong Yuen Bakery still insists on handmade production. The well-known charcoal-grilled almond biscuit is the classic signature product of Macao.
Ancient charcoal method
Choi Heong Yuen Bakery uses the ancient method of charcoal baking in wooden barrels to make the biscuits nice and crisp. This method may take two to three times longer than ordinary baking but brings a softer taste, a recipe proudly passed down generations.
