A local landmark, the city’s only original flour mill

- 161 Hoi Bun Road, Kwun Tong
The city’s only-standing flour mill

With its name printed in five huge Chinese characters in traditional calligraphy, Kowloon Flour Mills is a local landmark. For more than half a century a loyal team of 30 workers grind wheat into flour, over a thousand 50lbs bags every day. From here in Kwun Tong they supply many famous local restaurants like Din Tai Fung.
Factory by the sea

In the 1960’s, before the reclamation, the factory was by the seaside. Cargo ships would supply the wheat, which was then pumped through long tubes into the six-storey high storage containers. Later, when the ships could no longer moor here, containers were lifted by crane onto the elevated Kwun Tong Bypass.
