Wonderful collection of Chinese art hidden between old factories

Hidden art gallery

Hidden amidst Kwun Tong’s grim factory buildings, is one of Hong Kong’s few private museums. The art space that opened in 2015, has 10,000+ square foot of Chinese traditional oil and colour paintings, ceramics and modern art installations. It is the brainchild of Simon Suen, the owner of the building and a keen collector of paints and books. He carries on the family legacy of education and art as foundation for development.

A fresh perspective

Yeung Chun Tong, who used to head the HKU Art Museum, is the museum’s curator, he tries to make art accessible for all ages: “We love to pick overlooked topics and themes, such as Chinese heritage or interesting HK brands and products.”
