Jaffna யாழ்ப்பாணம் Neighbourhoods

Jaffna, also known as 'Yalpana', is geographically closer to India than the rest of Sri Lanka. Fragments of the country's colonial past—like one of the greatest Dutch forts in Asia—are everywhere you look. For many years, it was off-limits to visitors because of the civil war that spanned three decades. This colourful destination is now regaining its former glory as a focal point of vibrant Hindu culture and mouth-watering cuisine. It is also a humble abode for its wise and resilient people. மூன்று தசாப்தங்களாக நீடித்த உள்நாட்டுப் போர் காரணமாக பல ஆண்டுகளாக யாழ்ப்பாணம் பார்வையாளர்களுக்கு ஓர் வரம்பாக இருந்தது. இன்று இந்த வண்ணமயமான இடம், இந்து கலாச்சாரத்தின் மத்திய அடையாளம், நாவில் எச்சில் ஊறும் உணவு வகைகளின் மையப் புள்ளியாகவும் அதன் முந்தைய பெருமையை மீண்டும் பெறுகிறது. அதே நேரத்தில் அதன் புத்திசாலித்தனமான, நெகிழ்ச்சி தன்மையுள்ள மக்களுக்கு ஒரு வசிப்பிடமாகவும் உள்ளது. யாழ்பாண அல்லது யாழ்ப்பாணம் புவியியல் ரீதியாக இலங்கையின் மற்ற பகுதிகளை விட இந்தியாவுடன் நெருக்கமாக உள்ளது. இலங்கையின் காலனித்துவ காலம், சமீபத்திய வரலாறுகளில் ஆராய்வில் ஆசியாவின் மிகப்பெரிய டச்சு கோட்டைகள் இலங்கையில் உள்ளன.
