Jaffna யாழ்ப்பாணம் Jaffna Uni City Walk

The Tamil people, known for their wisdom and culture, have long championed education and knowledge sharing. Jaffna, the capital of Sri Lanka's Northern Province, is a testament to this. Some of the most renowned educational institutes in the country are here; Jaffna was, at one point, a beacon of knowledge for the whole of South Asia. Jaffna's Public Library housed over 97,000 books and manuscripts and was one of the biggest of its kind in Asia before it burned down in 1981. Jaffna city was also home to the first all-girls boarding school in Asia. Inspired by the big part education plays in the cultural fabric of the city, three students, one from the Netherlands and two from Jaffna, delve into uni life in Sri Lanka and the spots local students flock to.
