Sanchaung, perched between the majestic Shwedagon pagoda and the Yangon River has historically been welcoming to the many different ethnic groups of Myanmar. You can taste it in the food, you can see it in the streets. Sanchaung is where people for authentic ethnic cuisine from Chin, Rakhine, Kachin and Shan. Sanchaung is where you find churches, monasteries, pagodas, mosques, and temples side by side. Peaceful unity between diverse religions, and between different generations. Explore this neighbourhood which is tranquil, yet vivacious; diverse, yet unanimous; conservative, yet sophisticated, never failing to surprise!
